For me personally the Darwen nights where more enjoyable
purely because the seating plan was a lot better and you
don't feel as though your playing to two separate audiences.
Having said that I've been getting e mails from people who
came along to both the Darwen and The Lowry show and said
that the Lowry night's were better, I tell yer this comedy
game is like an emotional roller coaster.
On the whole I'm really pleased with how the warm ups are
going and I've received 100's of e mails saying how much
you've all enjoyed them to.
Out of all the e mails that have come in right from the
first lot of warm ups in Darwen to the latest Lowry shows
I've only had one negative e mail, which when your trying
out new material can also be a good thing. Luckily they
enjoyed the show but thought it was a bit to short, this was
due to the fact that one of the Lowry nights my set lasted
half an hour but like I've said before these are only warm
up nights to practice what I may or may not use before the
main tour kicks off in November.
Some nights I've done over an hour, others nights half an
hour and the times will always change whilst I'm finding my
feet, this is why I have the very funny Jason Manford
supporting me at the shows so your always guaranteed a
minimum of at least an hour of comedy for your Queens
English seven pound warm up ticket.
I've had a lot of positive feed back about the video clips
that I use in the show so I'm going to film a bit more for
the September warm ups at Bury Met (there's only about 10
tickets left for those nights).
All tickets for the Dark Side Tour in November are now on
sale with an extra date thrown in for good measure at
Bradford. If your coming along to
one of the nights in November please pretty please get your
tickets ordered now, the tour dates are only on this site at
the minute so that you can get hold of them first. You've no
excuses for not being able to get your hands on a ticket
once I start plugging the tour on the radio and news papers
in the next couple of months.
Now then that's the tour stuff out of the way what else as
been happening in the world of McGuinness.
Some of you may have seen me on 8 out of 10 cats the other
week. I had a really good laugh doing the show although it
does amaze me how much stuff they actually cut out. I had a
bit of a ding dong do with Janet Street-Porter that I
suppose they had to cut out, especially as I had to explain
to her the type of show she was on and the fact that it
wasn't Question Time and along with that everyone else
telling her to, she even had a go at Lord Dave of Spikey in
the afternoon, 3 letters HRT.
Max and Paddy are back on E4 at the minute and on Channel 4
in a few weeks, again thanks for all the e mails and support
with the series and it's looking like it'll be out on DVD
with the usual gold nuggets on the special features towards
the end of the year.
I'm currently working on a few other bits n bobs at the
minute but nothing 100% to report as of yet, watch this
space for further details.
Until next week can I just say that my thoughts along with
everybody else's are with the victims and families of those
involved in the terrorism in London, well done to Amir Khan
on winning his first professional fight and of course less
we not forget the mighty Bolton Wanderers FC winning the
Asia cup.
Until next weekish, be good.
