Well hello ma
friends Paddy here with my weeklyish message and quote.
Although I'm mad busy at the minute things are going well,
the tour posters are printed up and out at the theatres,
I've finished the shoot for my calendar, I've found a
fantastic support act, the fitness DVD is coming along great
guns, I've been selected for the match, the tour dates have
started to sell out and my favourite pizzas are on two for
one at ASDA.
Let's start with my support act for the tour the very funny
if not Welsh Rod Woodward. Rod started off on the circuit
the same time as Peter Kay did and won many comedy
competitions a long the way. He was revered by none over
than the mighty Bob Monkhouse as one of the funniest talents
to emerge from the circuit in the last 10 years. I met Rod
by chance at a function I was attending for a local brewery
(no surprise there). I was a guest and he was the turn,
myself and the rest of the room thought his act really funny
and clever so after he'd finished I went up and spoke to
him. |
I found out that
he was not only a great stand up but also a lovely bloke to
boot, he supported me along with the mighty Janice Connolly
at one of my Bury warm ups and went down a storm, the rest
as they say is history and Rod is now part of the tour.
The tour dates have started to sell out now which is great
news so thanks to everyone for buying the tickets and
showing your support, you can see which ones have gone in
the tour section. I'm really pleased Manchester opera house
as sold out because it's the nearest to where I live and
Manchester is like a second home to me after Bolton. The
last of the warm ups at Bury Met were by far the best ones
I've done, the new ending went down a storm and the
atmosphere on both nights was cracking. Thanks very much to
Janice Connolly for helping me out and supporting me on the
first night at Bury, a truly great woman and a crowd pleaser
to boot. Like I said earlier Rod did the second night
(people who were there have already been e mailing to see if
he's on the tour) and is now my main support for the tour.
I've still got lot's of material which as not been used yet
so I'll throw in the odd bit on the tour and see what
happens, your letters and e mails have been very
complementary and positive so here's to the 30th of October
and a good tour.
For all my Southern friends who get in touch to find out if
I'll be doing any dates darn sarf well your wait is now
over, I'm going to be doing a one off show in High Wycombe
in March next year, details will be posted in my next
message.
As you may have seen on Sky one I had trials along with 40
odd others for The Match on Sky One. After two days of
intense training, football, running, spewing my ring up and
slipping Graham Taylor a few quid I was selected for the
squad. I was more nervous at the selection than I've been
for any stand up show and it was a great relief to be
picked, the show starts this Monday 2nd of October and will
be on Sky one every day up until the big game which will
also be live on Sky One Sunday 9th October. Win or lose,
substitute or dropped my next message will be after this
show because they keep us locked up at a training camp at
Newcastle football club for the entire week with no phones
or more importantly.....no porn.
The writing for Max and Paddy's fitness DVD is coming along
a treat and I canny wait to start filming it in the next
couple of weeks. As you may or may not know I used to work
in a gym and teach Boxercise classes so for me it's good to
see if the old legs can still do the business and have a
laugh at the same time. Max and Paddy the series is released
on the 3rd of October and along with all the extras there
will also be a teaser in there for the new fitness DVD.
Well with the Match, the fitness DVD and the tour starting
soon along with all the P.A's I've been doing October,
November and December are going to be very busy months that
along with me filming a pilot for a new show on Channel 4
and the fact that I've just discovered Babe Cast on Sky plus
things are going really well.
Until next weekish
